Our journey took off in Paris, on January 19, 1919:

The reckless aviator Jules Védrines succeeds in landing on the roofs of Galeries Lafayette, in the heart of Paris. A first and only time in History!

A hundred years later, Galeries Lafayette invited everyone to embark on a trip around the world, escaping to never-seen-before imaginary lands.

Discover “Le Voyage de Noël”, the 2020 Xmas edition by Galeries Lafayette, and step into the most iconic rendez-vous of the season."Diamonds are happier when they are free" exclaimed Caroline Scheufele's mother when she first caught sight of these iconsin the making.

Conveying a universal message, Happy Diamonds reflected the spirit of the times: precious things should not be locked up! Free and liberated, they sparkled more brightly than ever – like the women who wore them.

For this Christmas, Galeries Lafayette has imagined « 1,2,3, NOËL ! », a joyful story brought to life by the talented illustrator Léa Chassagne, which tells the incredible adventure of iconic toys in the heart of the most cosmic Santa Claus’ village, with northern lights as a magical backdrop, and invited everyone, more than ever, to dream…

After dusk at Galeries Lafayette… Dolls, Teddy bears, robots, superheroes, and recycled or futuristic toys get busy setting their favorite game ever « 1,2,3, NOËL ! ».

sliding along the branches of the iconic Christmas Tree, hanging garlands and decorations here and there, throwing glitter by surprise, making gifts fly away, all of it under the multicoloured reflections of the stained-glass windows of the Coupole Dome.

In the early morning, when the doors of Galeries Lafayette opened again, all the toys froze by the tree, and came to life by surprise every time the music was playing, unexpectedly amazing all visitors passing by…!

Every Christmas since 1976, the spectacular great pine Tree takes place under the Dome of Galeries Lafayette Paris Haussmann to make everyone dream.

This year again, the extraordinary Tree was decked out with the iconic “1,2,3, NOËL !” toys! Every 30 minutes, the lights going out to give away a magical show during which the toys come to life, and an astronaut Santa Claus does pirouettes under the Dome!

Christmas is also the time for good deeds! To show solidarity, Galeries Lafayette partnered with charitable associations such as CKDB and Les Restaurants du Cœur that work towards a better life and invite you to help those in need during the holidays for a supportive and caring Christmas for all.

For this Christmas 2022, Galeries Lafayette celebrates the most iconic and universal symbol of Christmas: the fir tree.

It is for the first time, that the Grand Magasin pays homage to the man that has been sitting majestically under the Coupole of Boulevard Haussmann for about 50 years now, calling on a writer to sign their Christmas Tale…

« Planète Sapin » comes to life through a new Christmas story, signed by the novelist Claire Castillon, and under the guise of illustrator Florent Chavet.

A magical encounter at Galeries Lafayette: « Planète Sapin, Mission Noël ! » tells the fantastic adventure of Nordmann, a fir tree from Elato, the Planet of all firs, sent to Earth, to Galeries Lafayette, to help Annie, whose dad had decided not to celebrate Christmas this year…

Gathered under the large Dome of the Galeries Lafayette, in Paris, the endearing Christmas tree and the little girl will have fun during this all Christmas Eve at the Department Store. With his legendary humor, Nordmann will help Annie’s father find his child’s soul back: Christmas mission accomplished!

As tradition has it, the Paris Haussmann Flagship store’s spectacular glass-covered Neo-Byzantine dome houses every year since 1976 a majestic Christmas tree to celebrate the holiday season.

The lively windows display of Boulevard Haussmann showcase Nordmann’s epic story, each of the eleven tableaux featuring a piece of Nordmann's adventure in fully staged animated scenography.

Galeries Lafayette also offered a unique immersive experience allowing visitors to step into an imaginary forest, combining technology and visual poetry.

For the third year in a row, Galeries Lafayette supported Cékedubonheur (CKDB), a charitable association committed to supporting hospitalized children.
