FROM GIVENCHY
TO PATOU
Born in France in 1978,
Guillaume Henry studied at the Beaux-Arts,
the Duperré School of Design,
and the Institut Français de la Mode, and quickly made a name for himself at Givenchy,
then at Paule Ka for 3 years.
At the age of 30, Henry took over the artistic direction of Carven. In 2015, he was appointed as Creative Director of Nina Ricci.
In September 2018,
LVMH named Henry the Artistic Director of Patou. His first collection was presented during Paris Fashion Week in September 2019.

AT MAISON PATOU
THE EXTRAORDINARY LIES IN THE ORDINARY
Guillaume Henry opens a brand new chapter in the history of the house founded by Jean Patou. Developing a feminine ready-to-wear collection inspired by couture that is both delicate and accessible, joyful and refined, Patou continues to dress the women he meets and the ones who inspire him.
Like Jean Patou, Guillaume Henry conceives fashion as an art of living, always in movement. "My collections land between elegance, beauty, fine arts and fantasy" said Jean Patou.
Cinema and photography lover, Guillaume Henry tells stories through clothes. His creations reflect this taste for "the extraordinary in the ordinary", "these little nothings" that make reality sublime.

As he told us: « Galeries Lafayette is the Parisian shopping temple. It’s an incredible place, a true architectural wonder. »

FROM CLASSICAL DANCE
TO FASHION
Originally from Italy,
Alexandre Mattiussi grew up in Normandy.
From an early age he dreamed of classical dance, but his life-journey was meant somewhere else…
He began his career in fashion by studying arts and design at École Duperré in Paris.
He specialized in men's fashion and completed several internships with José Levy and Cerruti. After graduating, he held prestigious contracts with Dior on the 30 Montaigne men's line, before becoming first assistant for Givenchy men and then for Marc Jacobs.

AMI Paris
A PLAY ON MASCULINE & FEMININE LOOKS
He launched his own label in 2011, AMI, diminutive of his first and last name.
Friendship and love become its DNA.
His first collection was an everyday wardrobe for men, clothes that he and his friends could wear. The AMI style is alike its creator, authentic, relaxed, fashion in all simplicity.
He presented his first FW 11/12 collection in a small Parisian café, far from the fashion week madness, and widened its offer with a women's line playing on masculine-feminine looks.
The brand experienced a meteoric rise and in just a few years became internationally identifiable thanks to its core collection « AMI de Cœur".

PIERRE
HERMÉ
A Combination of
Textures, Sensations, and Flavours
« Hello everyone!
Live from Galeries Lafayette,
Pierre Hermé, Pastry chef.
Welcome to my French Talk! »
For the occasion, Pierre Hermé, world-renowned pastry chef, took the time to tell us about the house's know-how, his inspirations for imagining his gourmet pastries, his love for the profession, Gaston Lenôtre, and even giving us out bits about his worldwide acclaimed signature pieces including his reinvented macaron, the Plaisir Sucré and Infiniment Vanille…
Long-time partner with Galeries Lafayette, the Chef would himself describe the Grand Magasin as « a combination of textures, sensations, and flavours, that are just to die for! ».

FROM GASTON LENÔTRE
TO LADURÉE
Born in 1961 in Colmar,
Pierre Hermé is the heir of four generations of Alsatian pastry chefs. He began his apprenticeship at the age of 14 with Gaston Lenôtre. Pierre Hermé owes the origin of his know-how to his mentor as he always refers to: “Thanks to Gaston Lenôtre I learned what is the quality of the products, the attention to detail, the rigor and the sense of organization” he says.
Pierre Hermé multiplies the experiences: François Clerc, Alain Passard, Fauchon, Ladurée … At the age of 24 he becomes Pastry Chef.

LA MAISON PIERRE HERMÉ PARIS
AND SIGNATURE CREATIONS
With the help of Charles Znaty, the pair created "La Maison de Pierre Hermé Paris", at the end of 1996.
In 1998, the first boutique was inaugurated in Tokyo, and in 2001, in Paris, rue Bonaparte, in Saint Germain des Prés.
Its success was immediate. The universe of Pierre Hermé is made of creativity and offers new tastes, and unusual sensations. “I consider pastry as an Art with a capital A, in the sense that it is a true mode of expression of sensitivity, in the same way as music, painting, and sculpture. My only guide is pleasure” he says.
The macaron remains one of Pierre Hermé’s greatest specialties. Today, its fame goes well beyond the borders of France, often copied never equaled.

and I have my own brand, made in Paris.
It simply couldn’t be more French! »
During her interview, former supermodel, Parisian icon, and fashion creator, Ines de la Fressange, tells us all about her debuts with Chanel, her love for Provence, her childhood memories about Galeries Lafayette, her vision and inspirations when imagining timeless collections to be worn both in the streets of the capital and on the beaches of the south of France, as well as her ultimate French touch!
As Ines likes to recall « People admire the style of the Parisian woman around the world, and Galeries Lafayette is, for me, a true symbol of French style! »

BECOMING AN ETERNAL ICON
Born in 1957,
in the town of Gassin, near Saint-Tropez, Ines de La Fressange was soon to become an eternal icon.
She moved to Paris at the age of 16 to pursue higher studies in art, but her projects were soon to be modified as she embarked on a modeling career.
She quickly walked for Thierry Mugler in 1975 and managed to land many contracts with Christian Lacroix, Yves Saint Laurent, Castelbajac, and Kenzo.

FROM CHANEL
TO THE SYMBOL OF FRENCH ELEGANCE
In the early 80s, Ines met with Karl Lagerfeld.
The fashion designer on the rise was seduced by her beauty, as much as by her personality, and opened her the doors to the Maison Chanel.
She served as the model for the Marianne bust in 1989, launched her own eponymous brand in 1991, released an autobiography, « Profession Mannequin », in 2002, and appeared on the cover of French Vogue magazine in 2008.
The following year, she made a remarkable comeback during a show by couturier Jean Paul Gaultier. In 2010, Ines released « Parisienne », a real bookstore success.
As of today, Ines de la Fressange remains forever the icon and ambassador of French charm and elegance.
